The National Plumbing Code of Canada

The National Plumbing Code of Canada, referred to as NPC, is a book of the Canadian plumbing regulations for the construction industry.
The standards apply to both residential and commercial projects.

The focus is on safety and health. It establishes minimum requirements for plumbing components and installation.

For example, it covers items such as:

- Minimum size and type of water pipes
- Specifications for drainage and venting systems
- Specifications for water distribution systems

The National Plumbing Code 1995 has been updated. The National Plumbing Code 2005 version will be available at the end or September 2005. It will be available in a soft cover or binder version.

The National Plumbing Code is used in conjunction with the National Building Code.

The National Plumbing Code is published by the National Research Council of Canada.
