Resources

The resources listed below provide information for various aspects of building.

Construction materials (plywood, lumber, electrical components, and so on) are certified for use in Canada.

Products (and/or the components) sold here require the appropriate labeling. This indicates that they meet specific code requirements: building, fire, electrical, etc. It is for the safety of the end user. Items such as extension cords or light fixtures with a CSA label are certified.

A company outside of Canada who wishes to sell a product related to an aspect of construction must have the appropriate labeling such as CSA or ULC on the product.

Energy saving products are also labeled, identifying that they meet the energy efficiency standards for Canada.

A brief description is provided for the type of information found at each organization. For others their title basically explains what topic they cover. Look through these sites or use their search to locate specific information, as the addresses listed below go to their main page.
